MitiS has been perfecting his special breed of piano-driven melodic bass since 2010. Brought up as a Classical pianist in Pennsylvania, MitiS, aka Joseph Torre performs a live set that combines his production chops and piano roots to get the absolute best of both worlds. He’s an artist in the purest sense, pouring his soul into every release. And as his vision of the world becomes more refined, so does his writing. The Foundations EP is brighter and dancier record than previous MitiS releases, but never loses his signature emotionality.
Torre says, “I just want to share good music, have it be through performance or a small, simple social setting. Music is what I do, I wouldn’t change that for anything. Have it be a Chopin piece playing in a hall, or a dirty bass kickin the club’s ass, I’m down for either.”
He may be down for either, but really excels at a strong combination of both. “I find myself unable to stop making phat basses, heavy beats, and throwing melodies into the mix… I can’t think of anything else more appetizing; It’s the new age Classical.” Many a fan has told Torre that they can recognize a MitiS song by its first note, the supreme compliment for any musician.
Foundations debuts on Tuesday March 1st – expect a spectrum of sounds ranging from hard-hitting bass melodies to sparkly synth build-ups with swirling vocals and cascading progressions in between.

Party Nails

The appellation of New York native Elana Belle Carroll, derived the name while living in Brooklyn shortly after graduating from college. One night, while not-so-secretly scoping out a band name, she observed a group of girls pampering themselves before a party, and they just so happened to be painting their nails. “I liked the idea of girls doing their nails just to have a little more fun, just the tiniest detail in getting ready to go out,” Carroll told me. Although Party Nails’ songs are pop-fueled, disco-driven fun, the lyrics come from a deeply intimate place that, when listened to carefully, can reveal themselves to be quite dark at times: “’Break’ is about that moment in a relationship when you know that it’s going to fall apart, but you’re so sorry.” Listening to her single with that knowledge makes the charismatic vocals and biting hooks all the more affecting.

Nick and Emma met on Indiana University’s “Class of 2017” Facebook page. Producer and songwriter Nick Ortega needed a vocalist. Vocalist Emma Maidenberg needed a producer to bring her lyrics to life. They met, instantly connected musically, and PRXZM was born! The music scene took notice, and in no time at all, PRXZM was flying all over the country, playing shows, connecting with fans, and growing in popularity with their online audience. Their signature sound is comprised of Nick’s soaring, expertly blended synth progressions and piano melodies, and Emma’s pure, smooth vocals and honest lyrical musings, driven with addictively catchy percussive rhythms. PRXZM shows no signs of stopping, and are poised to have a breakout year in 2017.
