WEEK FOUR FEATURING: Fiona Hayes, Yellow Roses, Gauze, Liminality, and Green,
Fiona Hayes: Hailing from St Paul, Minnesota, Fiona Hayes is a fresh voice in alt-rock, known for her layered harmonies and emotionally charged vocals. At just 15, this songwriter tackles themes like misogyny, survival, and heartbreak with sharp, poignant lyrics. Inspired by the ’90s riot grrrl movement, she channels the rebellious spirit of female-fronted bands while carving her own space in today’s scene.
Yellow Roses: Yellow Roses is a Twin Cities-based quartet that blends the heavy, distorted textures of grunge with the atmospheric elements of shoegaze and post-hardcore angst. A prominent fixture in the Minneapolis DIY scene, the band is known for their energetic live performances and has released singles such as ‘BURNING BRIDGES.’ They frequently tour the Midwest, including regular appearances in the Milwaukee underground music circuit at venues like Sugar Maple.
Gauze: Gauze is a Minneapolis-based alternative metal and self-proclaimed fartgaze band that is carving out a raw, high-energy space in the Twin Cities DIY music scene. Melding heavy, atmospheric textures with aggressive alt-metal riffs, the band delivers a sonic punch that is both visceral and unapologetically authentic.
Liminality: Liminality is an experimental alternative/shoegaze band based in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. They are known for blending heavy, hard-hitting guitar riffs with smooth, atmospheric melodies to create a dynamic live soundscape.
Green,: green, is an alternative band from south Minneapolis that sprouted from the mind of front-person Sean Powell-Burns. A product of the surrounding environment, green, hit the local scene in late 2021, and is in the midst of recording their second EP.
