Blood. Spectacle. Lifestyle. Mythology. Costumes. And more blood. When you think of beloved shock-metal outfit GWAR, those words are likely the first that come to mind. And with good reason. At a time when bands have become bland, GWAR stands out for their performances and the intimate connection with their fans. The push-and-pull between GWAR and their fans creates a visceral experience that continues to add to the band’s legend and legacy, one new tour at a time. Few, if any band, can break down a physical barrier with their audience quite like GWAR. Fluids fly, substances spray and the lust for copious amounts of fake blood [and cutting heads off, of course] leaves audiences thirsty for more. The mythological nature of their live shows may be at the forefront of people’s minds, but it is GWAR’s meticulously crafted songs blend (ING) satire, chaos and violence, made them cultural icons.

Formed in 1993 by Lord Ahriman & Blackmoon (R.I.P.) and releasing the classic self-titled MCD just a year later, it was “The Secrets Of The Black Arts” which quickly turned DARK FUNERAL into one of the leading acts of the second wave of black metal. In the ensueing years a string of truly merciless studio albums, worldwide tours, festival shows, and impressive live performances kept them not only in high demand on the live circuit but also resulted in a strong bond with a maniacal global fan-base, who supported them through thick and thin.

SQUID PISSER eviscerates the ego and and all things serene with their own vibrant form of vicious and mucky hardcore. Slamming down dolphin corpses at breakneck speeds, the duo, which is comprised of Tommy Meehan on guitar (Deaf Club, Cancer Christ, Sweatband Records, Cartoon Network) and Seth Carolina (Starcrawler), have constructed a fresh and mucousy new alien craft powered by tightly controlled noise-guitar, savage primal drum work, and gooped up vocal deliveries that might sound like a gaggle of frogs thrown into a garbage disposal (although the Squid boys wouldn’t recommend doing this).
